Notes:
1. The MySQL server installed fine and worked great initially under Win2k. For unknown reasons later on, it stopped working, throwing an Error 1067 on every execution attempt.
2. Sometimes the OpenAL sound in cygwin works ok - but seems to generate different tones than in Linux. For instance, the testpitch3 program generates a C major chord(C E G) in Linux, but plays a minor triad in cygwin(odd).
3. Although I can find no sensible reason why PCMCIA 802.11x cards should NOT work under Win2k, I have been unable to get any of them to work. They all install fine and don't complain at all; don't throw a single error message. They just quietly don't work.
4. The FreeBSD portage system states that gnome-panel is required to build and install Gaim.
5. They say it works on the site. Don't believe the hype. With all the Linux audio crunchiness, I'd be surprised if they even got output to work, let alone input. They probably consider it a victory that the app even launches.
